COMMUNITY RESOURCE

Affinity Health Center is providing telehealth services for new or existing patients.  To schedule a telehealth appointment, call our main number at 803-909-6363.  We accept uninsured, Medicaid, Medicare and private insurances.  We have primary care and mental health services available through telehealth.

 

Affinity Health Center will begin offering curbside COVID-19 testing (specimen collection) on Monday, April 6th.  In order to be tested for COVID-19, you must call our main number at 803-909-6363 to be pre-screened. If you are eligible for testing, we will schedule an appointment for you to be tested from your car.

The SC Thrive Contact Center is available and taking applications and calls for people who would like to apply for SNAP and Medicaid over the phone. We’re open 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and can be reached at 800.726.8774. 

We’re also keeping our website (https://scthrive.org/coronavirus-resources/) and our social media (https://www.facebook.com/scthrive/) updated with resources your community may need, like unemployment benefit information and self-care ideas for social distancing.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

The Salvation Army is continuing their services and hours as normal.

They are helping with assistance with food in the York Area with Seniors as well as feeding our local EOC and 911 dispatch.

They are reaching out to different agencies to see how we can help and assist with food or any other need that arises.

They  are available to help with students that need to stay housed on campus or picking up meds or other essential needs.

Children's Attention Home - NEED

 

Children's Attention Home who is running at capacity and has the following needs from the community. Please visit their website for more information.

  • Activities (for a primarily teen population)

  • Snacks

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Bethel Men's Shelter they are very much in need of volunteers to help with laundry services. They provide 63 beds, as well as showers for their clients, and need volunteers to help with laundering of the linens and towels. They have an account with a local laundromat and will provide everything. Their usual volunteers - predominantly over the age of 65 - are in the higher risk category so that leaves them with an immediate need for volunteers. Fort Mill Care Center has implemented a new drive-up service.  Clients,  please follow these directions.

1) Important – Please STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE throughout your visit.


2) When arriving at the Fort Mill Care Center, please drive to the rear parking lot and loop in front of the staff

entrance. If others are ahead of you, please wait in line.


3) A member of our team will visit with you and determine how we can help. They will maintain some distance, so please speak loudly so they can hear you.


4) When directed to, loop back toward the front of the building and park by the sidewalk. Another member of our team will bring your items and load them in your vehicle for you.


Bringing donations: please pull into the gravel driveway in front of the storage building on Old Nation Road.

We appreciate all the shares on our last post! In response to recent developments of COVID-19 and schools closing in our area, we have added to our food needs. Our goal is to provide additional bags of food for families with school age children. We are asking for the following additional items in order to allow more food for families:

Juice Boxes
Cereal Bars/Breakfast Bars/Granola Bars
Pop Tarts
Individual Cracker Sandwiches
Individual Cookie Packages
Fruit/Applesauce Cups
Single Cereal Servings
Microwave Cups of any kind (mac & cheese; chili; ramen soup, etc.)
Canned Fruit
Canned Pasta (like Chef-Boy-R-D)

Please NO GLASS

We are open the following for deliveries:
Monday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Wednesday 8:30am – 5:00pm
Thursday 8:00am – 3:00pm

Glencairn Garden in Rock Hill

What was once the backyard garden of David & Hazel Bigger in 1928, Glencairn Garden is now an 11 acre paradise in the heart of Rock Hill. The Garden was the original inspiration for the annual Come-See-Me Festival which celebrates its 50th festival in 2013.
